UK Farm Soil Carbon Code Stakeholder Workshop #3

On 4th April 2022 the Farm Soil Carbon Code (UKFSCC) Consortium hosted the third in its series of workshops to share with stakeholders the progress made in developing the Code and research projects that lie behind it, as well as the outcomes of the engagement with farmers, NGOs, government, investors and some of the businesses already operating in this space.

The Workshop focused on the next steps for the Code’s creation, and specifically the three different ‘options’, namely:

  • Independent, Commercial Code
  • Accreditation Standards and Guidance
  • Accreditation Standards, guidance & 'Minimum Viable Community Code'

We would like to give all stakeholders the opportunity to express their preference again, share with us their reasoning, and pose any questions about the different options, by completeing a short survey:

The SSA is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. We decided not to set up a charity because that would limit some activities such as campaigning on government policies. With a not-for-profit company the directors don’t benefit from profits and money raised is spent on company aims.
