A Capital Growth course
Discover the delights of patterns, numbers and shapes from Early Years up through Primary School. Simple cost-effective ways of working with nature and using what is around you to discover the fun of maths and problem solving.
Trainer Alex Smeed has been a classroom based primary school teacher in London for over ten years, in KS1 and KS2. For the last 3 ½ years she has taught maths at Christ Church Primary school, working with whole classes, and smaller groups, placing an emphasis on outdoor learning. Outdoor learning has provided an opportunity to learn actively in a setting that can be both fun and memorable for everyone involved.
Trainer Sue Perry is a teacher of modern foreign languages and is Head of Outdoor Learning at Christ Church Primary school. She previously worked as Programmes and Learning Manager at Chelsea Physic Garden and at Kew Gardens developing botanical expeditions for the Friends of Kew. As well as teaching she manages an educational charity to help disadvantaged young people access education.
