A Forest Garden is a designed agronomic system based on trees, shrubs and perennial plants. These are mixed in such a way as to mimic the structure of a natural forest – the most stable and sustainable type of ecosystem in this climate. In this session, you can discover how to implement these principles within an urban context and beyond.
Trainer - Susannah Hall
Susannah assisted in the creation of the Cecil Sharp House Permaculture Learning and Demonstration Garden. This is a decorative, ecological, edible low maintenance design inspired by the folk adage: one for the birds, one for the bugs and one for me, which chimes very well with the permaculture values of earth care & people care. Susannah is also the organiser of London’s Permaculture Festival & operates Permablitz, which is London’s social experiment in reciprocal edible garden makeovers.
